Cookie policy
The cookies, and other information kept in your browser, that patchd.net and Patchd use.
Last updated 1 November 2026
Cookies are small files a website keeps in your browser. Websites can also keep information in your browser in other ways, such as its local storage. This policy covers both, on patchd.net and in Patchd.
On patchd.net
patchd.net doesn’t set any cookies, and doesn’t use analytics, advertising or any other tracking. Its fonts and everything else it needs come from patchd.net itself, so visiting it doesn’t tell anyone else.
It keeps one piece of information in your browser:
| Name | Kept in | What it’s for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose the light or the dark theme with the button in the header. | Until you clear your browser’s data for patchd.net |
The invite and contact forms send what you fill in to our form service, which doesn’t set cookies on patchd.net.
In Patchd
Patchd only uses the cookies it needs to work: they sign you in and protect your account. Because they’re strictly necessary, the law doesn’t ask us to get your consent for them, but here’s what each one does:
| Name | What it’s for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
patchd-session | Keeps you signed in, and ties each page you open to your session. | 8 hours after you were last active |
XSRF-TOKEN | Stops other websites from making your browser send forms to Patchd without you knowing. | As long as your session |
remember_web_… | Only if you tick “Remember me” when you sign in: keeps you signed in between visits. | About 400 days, or until you sign out |
Your theme and font choices in Patchd are saved with your account, not in your browser. Patchd doesn’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and doesn’t load anything from other websites.
When you pay
Stripe handles payments for Patchd. It uses cookies of its own, such as __stripe_mid and__stripe_sid, to take payments and prevent fraud, which are strictly necessary for paying. Stripe’scookie policy explains them.
Managing cookies
Your browser’s settings let you see, delete and block cookies and the information websites keep. If you block Patchd’s cookies, you won’t be able to sign in. Clearing patchd.net’s data just puts the site back to the dark theme.
Changes to this policy
If we ever want to use cookies that aren’t strictly necessary, such as for analytics, we’ll ask for your consent first, and update this policy. When we change it, we update the date at the top.
